What Goes Into Your Custom Rig
You're not picking options off a menu. You're making real equipment decisions that affect how your crew works every day. Here's what we work through together.
Trailer, box truck, sprinter van, or large truck. The platform shapes every other decision on the build. We match it to your crew size, the jobs you're chasing, and how far you're hauling from job site to job site.
The core of the rig. We size the output capacity and pressure to the foam types you're spraying and the volume you're targeting. Open-cell and closed-cell capability are different specs, and we get this right first.
Undersizing the generator is one of the most common mistakes contractors make on a new rig build. We right-size it to your proportioner and accessories so you're not tripping breakers or losing output mid-job.
Not all guns are built for the same applications. We select the right gun for your primary market, whether that's residential, commercial, or roofing, and match it to your proportioner for consistent output.
Hose length affects how far your crew can work from the rig. Heating capacity is equally important, keeping chemical temps consistent across conditions. We spec both to match your job type, working environment, and distances.
Moisture in the air system ruins foam. Full stop. We pair a properly sized compressor and air dryer to your proportioner, keeping moisture completely out of the mix so your chemistry performs the way it should every time.
Moving A-side and B-side from drum to system takes equipment that matches your pace. We spec transfer pumps to your drum sizes and job volume so you're not waiting on material between lifts or at the gun.
Chemicals have a temperature window, typically 70 to 85 degrees. Cold weather without the right setup means bad foam. We build for your climate with drum heaters, insulated enclosures, and climate-controlled trailer options.
Training Comes with the Territory
Buying a rig from IDI is not just a transaction. We make sure you and your crew know how to use it. When your rig is delivered, we don't just drop it off. On-site startup training is part of the process. Your crew gets hands-on time with the equipment before we leave. Beyond delivery, IDI's training covers:
- Substrate preparation and moisture conditions
- Mixing ratios and proper lift thickness
- Temperature management, ambient, substrate, and chemical
- Troubleshooting off-ratio foam before it becomes a callback
- Quality control procedures and how to document your work
