For decades, fiberglass insulation has been one of the most commonly used types of insulation. Made of thin strands of glass, fiberglass batts come in blanket “sheets” while loose fill is blown into crevices. Determining which to use depends on the needs of the project.

  • Mold won’t grow on batts or loose fill fiberglass insulation and both forms are water-resistant (although fiberglass doesn’t do as well in continuously moist conditions).
