Metal building systems can become highly energy efficient structures by filling the purlin (or girt) cavities with low-cost fiberglass insulation. This can be accomplished with a fabric liner system (Simple Saver, MB Safety Liner or Energy Craft) or with a Long Tab Banded System.
Continuous insulation has become more affordable in metal building systems. The use of fire-rated polyiso insulation can provide an energy-efficient, attractive wall system.
